Every of us who has a website or blog, better search engine placement is first needs for the website or blog to get best ranking in google or search engine. Without better search engine placement we lost lots of real visitors from our website. They won’t find our website though we have the good content of informations or datas.

There are many factors affecting search engine placement and one of the key factor for better search engine placement is www or none-www redirects (for example www.domain.com or domain.com). Most of website points to the same directory of your web server if you open the website with www.domain.com atau domain.com.

Search engines including Google regards www attached before our site as different website then our site with non www. So search engines ranks our site with www and with non www differently which results in search engine thinking that the two sites are different or has duplicate content. This will divide our search engine ranking. Also, among the back links we get to our site, some sites links to www.domain.com and some links to domain.com which will confuse search engine too and search engine are forced to think that we are getting less back links then we are actually getting. A great confusion for search engine and our search engine rankings are affected also divided into website with www and with non www.

Thus, it is always a good practice to use only one url redirect either www.domain.com atau domain.com. Lets take an example of google.com. If we type google.com in the address bar of our web browser we can see www.google.com. Google.com is automatically redirected to www.google.com. Alexa.com, yahoo.com are also the other examples.

Please check your website first typeing www.yourwebsite.com and yourwebsite.com. If your website redirects to www.yourwebsite.com from yourwebsite.com, there is no need to redirect your website from cpanel. If your websites doens’t redirects then you can mannualy fix this problem using your cpanel provided by your webhosting provider.

Log on to your cpanel. Go to Redirects and in the page choose the website you want to redirect. If you want to use only domain.com then chose Do Not Redirect www. If you want to redirect with www. choose Only redirect with www..
